One of the cool aspects about working at Zoom Group is that every once in a while you can actually help make a person’s dream come true.  We had that experience recently when we were able to successfully produce Chimel Ford’s first one person show!  For any aspiring professional artist, this is an important event.  It is also a relatively rare happening in our field.  For anyone who has the chance to wander through this exhibit it will become obvious that Chimel has tremendous artistic abilities.  The exhibit opened on March 16 with an opening reception that was attended by approximately 200 friends and art lovers.  We had wonderful press and further established StudioWorks as one of the galleries to watch in Louisville.  Chimel and his family were happy with the sales with the majority of the show receiving the coveted red dot! For interested art lovers…there are a few choice pieces still available and the artist is open for commissions.  Fulfilling the commissions the artist accepted on opening night will keep Chimel busy for a couple of months!  This exhibit also created an opportunity for our other artists as well and many of their works sold.  Overall, the circle of StudioWorks’ friends grew ever wider on this night.  Here are a few more images of Chimel’s exhibition which will remain up until April 20 when the gallery will be rehung with more art.

Opening night received a steady stream of visitors and if yours truly wasn’t too busy schmoozing…would have taken even more people pictures!  Here is one I remembered to take with new friends enjoying the show.

Of course this exhibit would not have happened without the assistance of many individuals and groups and Chimel has asked us to thank you all!  This project was funded by a Power2give grant which is an initiative administered through Louisville’s Fund for the Arts.  Through the generous contributions of the following individuals, we were able to receive matching money through Republic Bank and UPS.  Thanks so much for helping us reach our goal!  Here are our Power2give donors:
