Camp Opportunity teaches life skills

Paragould Daily Press: Trying to find acceptance and understanding can be a tough task for many teens, especially those who have high risk developmental disabilities.

Through the wraparound service many of these kids have the opportunity to learn life skills that will help them progress as they grow into adult life.

Dawn Layer, director of marketing for Families Inc., said the wraparound service was a grant program that gave family-driven, youth-guided and team-based support.

“It’s the best way to involve all the resources working with the child,” Layer said. “Some of the kids get support from churches or city youth programs. The wraparound service gives kids the tools to excel in life.”
