Ohio county considers funding increase to help developmentally disabled

Cleveland.com: The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities is asking for voters to pass a levy that increases tax dollars spent for care of people with disabilities. The current funding amount was set in place nearly two decades ago.

“This levy is 17 years old,” said Greg LaForme, superintendent of Windfall School. “Seventeen years ago, the price of gas was $1.16 and we served 459 individuals. Gas is now triple that cost and we’ve doubled the number of individuals we serve.”
